Financial Contributions

Each year the Columbia Rotary Club makes substantial financial contributions to community organizations based on an annual survey of club members' preferences for organizations to be supported. Guidelines for the contributions and the process for identifying recipients are contained in the "Financial Contributions" policy of the Board of Directors - click here to view the policies. Selection of organizations to receive contributions is based primarily on a poll of club members, with final approval by the Board of Directors. Organizations designated to receive financial support during the current 2010-2011 program year are:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Boy Scouts

  • Girl Scouts

  • Central Missouri Humane Society

  • Central Missouri Food Bank

  • Voluntary Action Center (VAC)

    • In addition to a contribution to VAC from fundraising activities, the club annually takes up a collection in November for the VAC's "Christmas Basket" program, which provides gifts and food for disadvantaged families. The collection was taken this year on November 18, 2010, and resulted in a total contribution of $752.00 to the program by far the largest amount ever raised in this annual collection. Click here for a thank-you letter from club member Cindy Mustard, Executive Director of VAC.

  • Nora Stewart Early Learning Center
