For administrative purposes, Rotary clubs are grouped into geographic regions called districts. The Rotary Club of Columbia is part of Rotary District 6080, which is one of three districts lying entirely within the State of Missouri (a fourth district includes portions of Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma). The geographical areas covered by each Missouri district are shown on the map at the bottom of this page.

Each district has a governor who oversees the clubs within the district. The 2011-2012 District Governor is Rita Esterly of the Jefferson City-West Rotary Club. The district governor may appoint associate and assistant district governors as appropriate.

District 6080 administers the District Simplified Grant program, which funnels Rotary Foundation money into programs within the district.

Educational programs administered by District 6080 include:

• Rotary Friendship Exchange
• Rotary Youth Exchange
• Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA)

The district has a conference each year to which all clubs are invited. See the district website for information on upcoming conferences, at which delegates from the clubs vote on district business and officers.

District 6080 cooperates with Districts 6040 and 6060 in presenting an annual training conference for incoming club Presidents and Secretaries called Show Me Rotary. Click here for information.
