Repackaging food at Central Missouri Food Bank - April 14, 2010

On April 14, 2010, the following club members (and several Rotaract Club members) spent two hours at CMFB repackaging cereal and potatoes: Lynn Barnett, David Clithero (and wife Ellen), Charlie Gibbens, Matt Reaves, Gena and Steve Scott, Tony St. Romaine, Beverly Thompson, Marty Walker (and wife Stephanne), Brenda Woods (and husband John McGraw), Sherri Wood and Kelley Zynda. See the Community Service page for more information on the club's involvement with Central Missouri Food Bank.

The evening started with repackaging bulk cereal into meal-size portions.
Several club members are seen here on the "cereal assembly line."

The next task was to repackage potatoes from a huge box into plastic bags.

As the potato repackaging progressed, it became impossible to grab potatoes
near the bottom of the tall box by reaching over the side, so Gena Scott
and some others really "got into" the work at the bottom.

Lynn Barnett acted as the custodian of the temporary holding area for the
bagged potatoes before they were returned to the box from which they came.
David Clithero, at right, brought the bags to Lynn.

Gena Scott celebrated the completion of potato packaging with "potato eyes."

A "potato brigade" was organized to transfer the packaged
pototoes back to the box from which they originally came.
